Teachers - Phys. Ed/ CALM, Coaches - Track & Field and Cross Country
I was born and raised in Medicine Hat. I have been married for 13 years and we have three beautiful boys, Maxwell (5), Mylo (3), and Sawyer (1). When I am not teaching I enjoy hanging out with family at the lake and playing sports.
Coaching is a large part of my teaching career. I am certified as a level two volleyball coach and a level one basketball and track and field coach. I have coached volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field, rugby and AFL and am a carded volleyball official. Volleyball has been my main focus and passion for the last twelve years but I am always looking to expand my knowledge of sports. For the last two years I have been working feverishly to develop CHHS's Track and Field and Cross Country programs. We have had phenomenal success in both our Junior and Senior High programs. We are averaging 90 athletes in Track and 25 athletes in Cross Country. Our Junior Highs are capturing banners and our Senior Highs have more athletes attending Provincials than ever before and received a 3rd overall in Provincials last season.
Since graduating from U of L in 2006 I have taught in many different places. My career started in Calgary (1 year), flew to New Zealand for a year, followed by an Australian outback teaching adventure for a term, then back home to Medicine Hat for a solid 3 years, opportunity knocked so over to UAE for 2012/13 year and back in the Hat since 2013/14. Currently I am in my 6th year of teaching summer school as well. In eight and a half years I have had excellent teaching opportunities and all have been wonderful teaching experiences. Home is Medicine Hat and I am excited to have reconnected with all my previous students, colleagues and friends.
