Anthony Donner

Mr. Donner's Counselling Page

Originally from Summerside, PEI, I have lived in Medicine Hat for over twenty years . I graduated from Medicine Hat High School in 1999 (I traded in my green clothing when I started at CHHS). I received my B.A. (with distinction) and B.Ed. (with distinction) from the University of Lethbridge and have taught at CHHS since May, 2004. I was awarded a M.Ed. (Educational Leadership) from the University of Lethbridge in 2016. This concluded two plus years of challenging but fulfilling work!

This is my sixth year as Grade 11/12 counselor at CHHS. Until September 2012, I taught in the Social Studies Department for most of my time at the school. Please do not hesitate to come by the counselling office for academic advising/problems, career counselling, personal issues, or just to tell me how much you love the Edmonton Oilers (you can even just pretend).

I have coached girls basketball at CHHS since 2007, working with our grade 7-9 teams. From 2005 to 2009, I was head coach of the Vikings Senior Football Team. After my football "retirement", I have stayed active in the game by officiating various levels of football in Medicine Hat. Because of my two boys, I also spend my time becoming an expert of diggers, Paw Patrol, Ninjago, and Rescue Bots.

I enjoy spending time with my wife (Catherine- who is also a teacher), my two boys (Michael- 5 and Andrew- 3), and our ageless cat (Poco). Summer is my favourite time of year- golf, baseball, BBQ, and mowing the lawn (kidding on the last one). I enjoy cheering for the Edmonton Oilers and hope to continue indoctrinating my children to share my passion for the team :)
